RABBI DOV BER COHEN

Born in the UK, after getting my degree in philosophy at Manchester University, I decided to take a deep journey into personal mastery and discovering the truth of life. My search took me to the East, where I spent six years delving deeply into Eastern paths: silent meditation retreats, intensive yoga courses, fasting, and extreme martial arts. 

I loved, and still greatly respect and appreciate, all the philosophies and practices I came into contact with. They each have beautiful teachings and uplifting practices. Yet there was one question that always came up for me;
HOW DO YOU KNOW YOU'RE RIGHT? HOW DO YOU KNOW THIS IS TRUE? 
In all my time exploring the traditions of the world, no one could give me a solid answer to my question. Until I arrived in Israel, where for the first time I came into contact with empirical, rational evidence that the holy books of the Jewish people could not have been written without some pretty serious intervention from an existence beyond time and space, one that is in control of history.

I had a strong confirmation (cognitive) bias against it being true, seeing as I wanted to continue my journey around the world (as well as a few other good reasons for not wanting to be religious). Yet, after debating the evidence with many atheists whilst doing a 1100 km, 40-day charity fundraising walk down the whole length of Israel, I came to the conclusion that the evidence is just too strong to be ignored.

Since then, I have aligned myself consciously and joyfully with the guidance of the Torah and the Jewish sages and use all my knowledge and experience to empower people from all backgrounds to live the best, most conscious, conscientious, joyful, moral, non-judgemental, meaningful lives they can.
